You may have seen a few extra rainbows around this year – That’s because WorldPride has arrived in Sydney. ️🌈
Sydney WorldPride is a global pride celebration that happens every few years in a different city. It incorporates all the @sydneymardigras events, plus a stack of extra festival offerings across arts, sport, theatre, concerts, parties, First Nations programming and even a human rights conference. 🙌
Why is this important? Well, Sydney was chosen by InterPride members to be the host of WorldPride in 2023, marking the first time a city in the southern hemisphere had been chosen – a huge win for the Australian LGBTQIA+ community ! 🎉
